Oh no, by no means do I absolutely hate Matthew Perry, and in retrospect, that's a very rough word to use there. However, I stand by my point. His little blip was a considerable means of disrespect to not only the writers and producers of the show, but to the institution of the show itself. Award shows have become means by which actors plug their new shows instead of celebrating their nominated ones, and it's become old and disrespectful to the audience.

Where I take some offense is in the fact that behind the scenes, a team of people have been working on the show for months, timing everything to the second, staying up late and coming in early to get it right. You can imagine that it's frustrating when two actors take it upon themselves to throw a curveball (and not a good one at that) to mess with the system. If they want to plug their shows, buy advertising time.

So when you say that you don't mind the plug (which, truth be told, wasn't the worst thing ever), or that "nothing was ruined," it's your opinion as a viewer. As someone who has worked with the team for months, I can tell you that it was disrespectful and rude.

I kindly respect your comments, and agree with you that the world doesn't need "haters." I hope you continue to share this philosophy with others.

Really? You're going to hate Matthew Perry because of that??? That's just pathetic. As a fan and viewer, I thought it was cute in the moment . . . and then didn't think too much more about it again until reading your "digression". That's fairly harsh of you. Nothing was ruined, there was no tragedy - let's keep some perspective. I have no problem with these two amazing actors mentioning their shows - LOVE Lauren in Parenthood and am excited for Matthew's Mr. Sunshine. In short, don't be such a hater. You'll be a better person for it.

What was Perry´s original intro that they felt it needed to be changed?

You are lucky that you were there.

I have the biggest grin on my face, reading about your adventurous life! Couldn't be more thrilled for you, and the great experiences you are having. I know I'm going to see you accepting an award someday for yourself, saying, "imma let you finish but..."

Kat!!! Your life is so much fun! It's really interesting to hear about the class part - it's like you're living two different lives. It sounds like it's a lot of work but a lot of payoff at the same time. Best wishes for tonight that all is smooth!

I have started the ball rolling by posting a comment on this article. Alas, with the moon's paltry gravity, the ball will be very difficult to stop.

The difference is that the kids aren't trying to profit off of these things and therefore it's considered "fan-made." Which is why the numa-numa kid is so famous... but hasn't been sued. The laws are complicated and you read about fair use here: http://transformativeworks.org/
