This site is inspired by Harvey Pekar’s American Splendor comic series from the 1970s-90s. A Cleveland file clerk, Pekar created a whole new kind of comic — one which portrayed the everyday man as a new type of hero. Maybe I’m that hero. Or maybe I’m just a nerd who wants to be something more than the unpaid help. Hey, I just came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I’m all out of bubble gum.
