I’m Kat, currently a graduate student and occupant of the bottom rung of entertainment industry employment: perpetual intern. As I adjust from Cleveland to Los Angeles and prepare to stage a coup on any employer that will hire me, I keep a collection of articles and posts here at Midwestern Splendor.
Mid-Splend was inspired by Harvey Pekar’s American Splendor comic series from the 1970s-90s. Pekar, a Cleveland file clerk, created a whole new kind of comic – one that portrayed the everyday man as a new type of everyday hero.
